Cutting out Fish with the Brother Scan N’ Cut – By the Shore DSP

Cutting out Fish with the Brother Scan N’ Cut – By the Shore DSP

Ingredients:

Stampin’ Up By the Shore designer series paper
Brother Scan N’ Cut
Spatula and stylus tools
Brother Scan N’ Cut mat

Recipe:

In this short video demonstration, I walk you through the steps I used to cut out fish patterns from the By the Shore designer series paper by Stampin’ Up. I used a blade depth of 4 and didn’t add an outline to each image. If I did, the patterns would have overlapped. I show this in the video when I first tried to add the outline and then I received an error message. I showed how I corrected that error by removing the outline distance. This cutting technique can be used to cut patterns out of any of your papers, keeping in mind that the images need to have a solid line around them. To save time, I selected just one area of the dsp. Later, I finished cutting out all the fish and will be making cards and other projects with them. The coordinating colors are: Calypso Coral, Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron, Soft Sky, and Very Vanilla.

  1. I really want one of these!
Do you know if they are compatible with the Apple Imax computer. Mine is only a couple years old. What I have read they have to be compatible with your computer.

  2. Hi Linda, sorry for the delay. I just found this comment. The best part about the Brother Scan N’ Cut is that you hardly ever need to connect it to a computer. It is completely independent. You can scan and cut all of the designer series papers as I have demonstrated throughout my blog. You only need the computer to download updates to your machine and to download SVG and project files. You can also use the Canvas program which is web based and then download projects you create.
