Spooky Banner and Haunted Village

Ingredients:

Big Shot or other die cutting machine

Recipe:

Cut with the Artful Dwellings die. The sandwich is the base plate, Biz die, paper or cardstock, and the cutting plate on the top. I used The Spooky Time stack for the banner and Designer Series Papers (current and retired) for the village. The banner was sturdy enough to hang using only one layer of cardstock. The village needed shapes cut with grunge board for the background so that it could stand up. Apply tacky glue to the grunge board and then add the paper on top. I used packing tape to help the village together. I could have also used black cardstock to hide the tape but I didn’t take that step. Embellish your banner or village with die cuts, stickers and chipboard shapes. For this project, I used some Recollections stickers from Michaels. I also cut out some shapes from the Home Sweet Home thinlets dies. In that set, there are windows, a bat, a bone and a ghost. Other stamps and stickers can be used to embellish. One set of letters was cut out with an alphabet die and the other set was cut out on my Cricut. One tip is that you can used various colors for the letters so that they have a better contrast with the background. Because I had already cut them all out in silver, I inked them a little to add some contrast and dimension.
