In this tutorial, you will learn how to cut out patterned paper using the Brother ScanNCut. The patterned paper we will cut out is Mosaic Mood dsp by Stampin’ Up! The model of Scan and Cut we are using is the CM350 or ScanNCut2. The resolution on this scanner is 300 dpi, making it suitable for scanning images outline in pencil. In order to cut out the hummingbirds, you first have to outline them with a pencil. Then, scan them in and cut them. After that, erase your pencil marks using a white Pentel eraser. I used the cut out hummingbird in this example to create a card featuring the Floral Essence bundle by Stampin’ Up!. The settings, card measurements and materials are listed below.
CM350 – Direct Cut
Recognition Mode = Black & White
Blade Depth = 5
Outline Distance = 0.04″
Card Measurements & Materials
Crushed Curry = 5.5″ X 8.5″ and score at 4.25″
Background = 5.25″ X 4″ Mosaic Mood dsp
Strip of Greenery = 5.25″ X 1.75″ Mosaic Mood dsp
Sentiment from Floral Essence = stamped in Terracotta Tile
Sentiment = Timeless Tag Punch & Faceted Dots
Flower from Floral Essence = stamped twice in Blushing Bride
Flower = Perennial Punch
Flower Center = Crushed Curry marker
Hummingbird = Attach with dimensionals, face in the direction of the flower.
