In this tutorial, you will learn how to emboss or deboss a stamped image using the Brother ScanNCut. I used the Brother ScanNCut Embossing Starter Kit for this project. It comes with embossing tools, an embossing mat, a template sheet, cover sheet and a card which contains an activation code. There are 50 additional images which will appear inside of Bother Canvas Workspace once the embossing function is activated. The overall concept is that you can line emboss the images in your machine, in Canvas Workspace or, in this case, an image you scan.
First, I stamped the butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set with Memento Black ink onto Whisper White card stock. Then, I scanned it into the SDX125 using Scan to Cut Data. Then, I saved the butterfly to the machine. Then, I returned to the Home screen and selected Retrieve Data. I retrieved the butterfly and embossed it using the 1.5 mm embossing tool. I used Silver Foil card stock by Stampin’ Up! To emboss, I adhered the embossing mat to the cutting mat with the green side down. Then, I removed the protective cover sheet. Then, I placed the card stock silver side down to emboss the butterfly. That way, the lines would be raised. I also shared an example of a butterfly which was debossed. To do that, leave the silver side up. Finally, I shared examples of an embossed butterfly card.
