Myths & Magic 60th Birthday Card

Ingredients:

Myths & Magic designer series paper
Magical Day stamp set by Stampin’ Up
Magical Mates framelits
What a Gem, July 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit
Powder Pink card stock
Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad
Tranquil Tide Ink
Lemon Lime Twist ink
Powder Pink ink
Stampin’ Up Blends
Glitter Enamel Dots
Everyday Label Punch
Balloon Bouquet Punch
Brother Scan N’ Cut
Cricut
Silver Baker’s Twine
Snail or rolling adhesive
Dimensionals or foam adhesives

Recipe:

Score a piece of 11″ by 8.5″ card stock and fold. Then, trim off 1″ so that the front of the card is 7.5″ by 5.5.”  Add two mats of Myths & Magic designer series paper. One is 7.25″ by 5.25″ and the other is 7″ by 5″. Adhere them to the card base and to each other using rolling adhesives.

Cut out the 60 using the Cricut using the Extreme Fonts font. Each number is 2.4″ by 2″ and has two layers of the Myths & Magic designer series paper. Cut out the numbers using the Cardstock or Cardstock+ setting and then adhere the two layers together using foam adhesives. Attach them to the card using foam adhesives.

The large mermaid and some sea horses were cut out of the Myths & Magic dsp using the Brother Scan N’ Cut. Stamp the smaller mermaids and sea horses from the Magical Day stamp set using Memento Black ink. Let the mermaids and sea horses dry and then use the Magical Mates framelits to cut them out. Color them using the Stampin’ Up blends. Colors selected for this project include: Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette. I didn’t get the shade of pink that I liked for the mermaid’s face so I blended the blends with a little Powder Pink ink using a marker. The stamped sea horse was colored with a Lemon Lime Twist marker.

Stamp the “it’s your day to Sparkle” sentiment onto Powder Pink card stock from the What a Gem Paper Pumpkin kit using Tranquil Tide ink. Punch out the sentiment using the Everyday Label punch and then trim off the top. Punch a balloon out of Powder Pink card stock using the Balloon Bouquet Punch. Ink around the sentiment and the balloon with a sponge using Lemon Lime Twist ink.
