In this tutorial, you will learn how to cut out and layer stamped images. The stamp set we will be using is The Gang’s All Meer by Stampin’ Up! It is part of the 2020 Sale-A-Bration. The model of Scan and Cut used for this demonstration is the SDX125. You can follow along with any model of ScanNCut you have. Here is a Playlist of tutorials on cutting stamped images with the Brother ScanNCut.
First, I showed how to stamp the meerkat, lizard and cactus stamps from The Gang’s All Meer stamp set in Memento Black ink onto Whisper White card stock. I demonstrated my “pencil trick.” To help ensure that your stamped images scan correctly, you enclose the gaps using a pencil and erase those marks later before you color your stamped images. I also shared the coloring trick by showing how to color the sand using Sahara Sand marker. By coloring in a section of sand, you are attaching the sand to the meerkats, making it one continuous image that the ScanNCut can cut out.
After stamping the images, you attach the Whisper White card stock to the mat by rubbing and/or by rolling over it with a brayer. We used Direct Cut and an outline distance of 0.04″ for the stamped images. I colored the stamped images using a variety of Stampin’ Blends. Current Stampin’ Up! supplies used for my projects are listed below.
