In this tutorial, you will learn how to create shaker cards using your Brother Scan and Cut SDX125. The paper we are using for these examples is the Birthday Bonanza designer series paper by Stampin’ Up! It is part of the 2020 Mini Catalog. The first of the shapes we cut out is a frame make up of a rectangle and an oval. Project dimensions are listed below. Here are the steps for making a shaker card. First, create a rectangle and then an oval. Place the oval inside of the rectangle. Select both shapes and align them both horizontally and vertically. Use the Background Scanning feature to place the frame over a piece of Birthday Bonanza designer series paper. Then, you have both an oval for the background of the shaker card and a layer to place over the card stock. Next, cut out the card stock layer by following a similar method. Refer to the dimensions below. In this section of the tutorial, you also learn to duplicate and layout your frames so that you can cut out 4 from one piece of 8.5″ x 11″ of card stock. Attach a piece of clear acetate or window sheet to the back of the card stock to cover the oval window. Next, cut out an oval frame out of card stock which will go over the middle of the card. The technique is similar to the previous skills you learned. Create two ovals, align them, and cut out several onto Bermuda Bay card stock. Finally, adhere all of the layers of your card, adding sequins for your recipient to shake. This makes your card fun and interactive. I hope you enjoyed these Brother Scan and Cut Tips & Tricks.
