To create the hole in the box, use a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles framelits. Use the Big Shot platform with the box on top. Place a small cutting plate inside of the box so that you only cut through one layer. Place the die face down over the box. You may want to hold the die into place using Painter’s Tape. Place another cutting plate on top to complete the sandwich. When you run the layers through the Big Shot, you will have the extra bonus of the circle having an embossed outline.

Stamp the sentiment in Tranquil Tide from the Magical Day stamp set onto a card from the Tutti-Frutti card pack. Punch out the sentiment using the Everyday Label punch and then sponge around the edges in Lemon Lime Twist. Embellish the sentiments with Glitter Enamel Dots. Attach the sentiment to the box using foam adhesives or twine.

Stamp the mermaids and sea horses from the Magical Day stamp set using Memento Black ink. Let the mermaids and sea horses dry and then use the Magical Mates framelits to cut them out. Color them using the Stampin’ Up blends. Colors selected for this project include: Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette. I didn’t get the shade of pink that I liked for the mermaid’s face so I blended the blends with a little Powder Pink ink using a marker. The sea horses were colored with a Lemon Lime Twist and a Powder Pink marker. The shells were cut out of the Myths & Magic designer series paper using the Brother Scan N’ Cut. The boxes were decorated with punched shapes and designer series paper. The embellishments were added to the box using foam adhesives.
